Clarence’s Guide to the Best Beer Gardens in Perth

Clarence’s Guide to the Best Beer Gardens in Perth

As someone who spends all day in gardens, there’s nothing better than unwinding with a pint on a sunny afternoon, enjoying the plants without having to prune, mow, or weed a thing.

So, here's a few of my favourite spots around Perth where the pints are chilled, the vibes are good, and the plants are looking as fresh as your first beer of the day.

1. The Garden, Leederville

First up, we've got a true classic: The Garden in Leederville. As the name suggests, this is a proper beer garden - huge outdoor area, loads of mature trees, and plenty of lush greenery to admire. It’s laid-back but lively at the same time, perfect for those catch-ups that last way longer than expected.

Clarence’s pick: Stone & Wood Pacific Ale

2. Rosemount Hotel, North Perth

The Rosemount is a Perth pub icon, and lucky for me, it’s just a short walk from home. It's a stunning outdoor space - leafy and relaxed, perfect for a sunny arvo session. Plus, it’s dog-friendly and home to some great live music gigs.

Clarence’s pick: Swan Draught

3. Pica Bar, Northbridge

A popular spot for an evening bevvy, PICA Bar in Northbridge is one of my favourites. Surrounded by lush plants and a prominent Moreton Bay fig tree, it’s a shady urban oasis that’s perfect for people-watching and enjoying some seriously good food.

Clarence’s pick: Guinness

4. The Brisbane Hotel, Perth

The Brisbane Hotel in Perth is the perfect spot for a laid-back afternoon in the sun. The spacious beer garden, surrounded by ferns and palms, features a peaceful pond and water feature, giving a relaxed tropical atmosphere. The sound of trickling water transports you straight to holiday mode - ideal for a Sunday drink and pretending work tomorrow doesn't exist.

Clarence’s pick: Coopers Pale Ale

5. Percy Flint, South Fremantle

beer garden with a vine and lady winking

If you’re willing to venture out of the inner city suburbs, Percy Flint in South Fremantle is worth the trip. This chill beer garden may be small, but it’s full of character, great drinks, and delicious food. It's the perfect spot when you want that relaxed backyard vibe, without having to do any of the hard work.

Clarence’s pick: Balter XPA

6. Your Own Backyard

I might be bias, but at the end of the day, nothing really tops your own backyard. Cheap beers, your favourite music, and no lines at the bar. With a few established plants, some freshly mowed lawn, and one of our Clarence Gardens stubby holders, you’ve got your own little beer garden setup without even leaving home.

Cheers!
